As we move from Spring into Summer, I hope you all are able to take time to recharge with your friends and family! Following the theme of recharging, the College is all about investing in your professional growth and relationships, congratulations to your personal commitment to excellence and improving the delivery of great healthcare.

Nashville is such a hotspot for healthcare, and your amazing chapter board is in full swing (already having provided six hours since January of affordable Fellow certified (F2F) education sessions) and I hope that you are taking full advantage of:

  • The chapter mentorship program, which is concluding its current cohort and will be accepting applications for the Fall cohort later this summer/early Fall. For more information, contact our Career Advancement Chair, Lesley Ann Browning, at [email protected].
  • The Board of Governors review course, which prepares our members to take the exam to achieve the esteemed FACHE (Fellow of ACHE) credential, which is the only nationally recognized credential for Healthcare Leadership in the United States. If this is not on your career development plan yet, today is the day to start your FACHE journey, you will not be disappointed! You can learn more about the FACHE credential here.
  • Fantastic healthcare education and networking programming with:
    • January’s session on Achieving Speed, Spread, Scalability and Sustainability for Health Systems (Fellow Certified Education Event)
    • The partnership event with the NHCC in February on The Healthcare Organizations’s role in Formulating Public Policy (Fellow Certified Education Event)
    • The Spring Symposium in April, a fantastic two-session event on Operational Resiliency Amidst Innovation - A Call to Action, sponsored by Ascension and TEKSystems, with an amazing and diverse panelists from Ascension, Maury Regional Medical Center, Lifepoint, Centennial Medical Center, The Disruption Lab, Shore Capital Partners, United Healthcare and Hashed Health. (Fellow Certified Education Event)
    • May’s event on Leveraging Lab and Pharmacy in new ways to improve health system margins, patient outcomes and provider satisfaction (An ACHE Qualified Education Event)
  • Community engagement and Volunteering with Cooking for a Cause, celebrating and serving our Nurses during Nurse appreciation week
  • Physician Leadership Academy, a joint partnership with the East TN and Mid-South chapters, which is a unique Leadership Institute program dedicated to equipping physicians with leadership education as part of their leadership journey. The 2023 cohort recently graduated, and applications are now being accepted for the 2024 cohort by clicking here.

Great healthcare is built on great partnerships and collaboration, 2023 marks the inaugural year of our first partnership event with the Nashville Healthcare Council in February, which was a great success and also a lot of fun planning and getting to know the talented leadership team at the NHCC! We also had a wonderful time at the March Madness social event with our friends in the TN chapters of HIMSS, HFMA and MGMA, keep your eyes open for a joint tailgating event in the fall and more partnership events coming your way!

The chapter board is a great opportunity to serve amid other talented leaders, consider volunteering on one our the chapter committees and then spring-boarding into a board position (for more information, contact our VP, Brian Raybourne, at [email protected])
